Description
The rubber fender rail is a strip of rubber attached to the top edge of the dinghy, it’s purpose is to protect the dinghy against damage, if the boat is to be used on a pond/lake where there are hard walls jetties or anything else that may damage the boat it’s probably a good idea to have this fitted, also if heavy tools are to be used for maintenance it may also be a good idea to fit the fender rail.
As standard when we fit a fender rail on our 8ft dinghy we also fit a hardwood transom mount and aluminium grip late on the inside, this is used so that a small petrol or electric motor can be fitted.
